Aging and Disability Resources for Colorado (ADRC)

ADRCs serve as single points of entry into the long-term services and supports (LTSS) system for older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, veterans and families. The vision behind Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs) is to establish, in every community, highly visible and trusted sources of information where people of all incomes and ages can turn for the full range of long-term support options and smooth access to public long-term support programs and benefits. Colorado State Unit on Aging

The State Unit on Aging sits within the Colorado Department of Human Services. Find out more about what the state is doing for Older Adults and their Caregivers.

Colorado Commission on Aging

The Colorado Commission on Aging (CCOA) conducts aging studies, assists government and private agencies on behalf of older adults, promotes the establishment of local programs and services older adults, conducts activities  for public education on problems of aging, and reviews existing programs and makes recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly for improvements

Lifelong Colorado Initiative 

The Lifelong Colorado initiative is a collection of state, regional, and local strategies that support aging in the community. It is our vehicle for moving aging efforts forward in our state and livable community efforts are a critical piece of the puzzle.

Colorado State Long Term Care Ombudsman

Certified long-term care ombudsmen are resident-directed advocates. Ombudsmen are trained to receive complaints and assist residents of licensed long-term care facilities to resolve problems in situations involving quality of care, use of chemical or physical restraints, transfer and discharge, abuse, and other aspects of resident rights.  The Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is a separate and independent program serving residents in long-term care.

CCERAP | The Colorado Coalition for Elder Rights and Abuse Prevention

The Colorado Coalition for Elder Rights and Abuse Prevention (CCERAP) provides education and training opportunities for professionals in the aging services network, and resources and referrals for all citizens of Colorado. Activities focus on the identification, prevention and treatment of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation (including financial exploitation).

Colorado Center for Aging

The Mission of Colorado Center for Aging is to educate and inform the public, community leaders and elected officials on diverse communities across the state and issues that impact the health and well-being of older Coloradans.

National Older Adult Resources

USAging

USAging represents and supports the national network of Area Agencies on Aging and advocates for the Title VI Native American Aging Programs that help older adults and people with disabilities live with optimal health, well-being, independence and dignity in their homes and communities.

Dementia Friends USA is a global movement that is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia. Developed by the Alzheimer’s Society in the United Kingdom, the Dementia Friends Initiative is underway in the USA. By helping everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects people, each of us can make a difference for people touched by dementia.
